Martin Whelan, Upper Shankill, Paulstown, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Bawnree, Old. Leighlin, Co. Carlow.

Passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on 28th May 2025 surrounded by his loving family in University Hospital Waterford in his 96th year.

Beloved husband to the late Chris and much loved father of Michael, John, Theresa, Rene, Martin & Tomás, and cherished brother of Jim and Packie (USA).

Predeceased by his sisters and brothers Mary, Kathy, Tom, Mick, Hughie, George & Johnny and his 2 great granddaughters Lara & Rose. He will be dearly missed by his loving sons & daughters, 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, son in law Pakie, daughter in law Valerie, nieces, nephews, neighbours, relatives and friends.

May Martin's Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Reposing in Somers Funeral Home, Bagenalstown (R21 DY66) on Sunday June1st from 2.pm, Concluding with Funeral Prayers at 7.pm.

Requiem Mass on Monday June 2nd in the Church of the Assumption, Paulstown at 12.noon, followed by burial afterwards in the Holy Family Cemetery, Paulstown.
